Walking through the streets of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is a very special experience. Its old town is one of the most historic places in the Canary Islands, where you will undoubtedly enjoy learning and observing.
In the capital, we can start in Vegueta. Here we will visit different museums such as the Museo Canario, La Casa de Colón or the CAAM. Its architecture is also unique on the island. Immerse yourself in its stone streets that will lead you to the Cathedral of Santa Ana. Take a breath of fresh air in its square and continue your journey to Calle Mayor de Triana, the main street of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
In this main and historical street of the city, you will find different shops to stop and look around, or even cafés and restaurants where you can enjoy the local food. Among its streets we can visit beautiful places such as the Plaza Cairasco, where the Gabinete Literario (Literary Cabinet) is located. Here you can relax and enjoy the atmosphere every afternoon. The best thing about the Calle Mayor de Triana is to get into its alleys, where you will undoubtedly find unique places.
We will then continue on to León y Castillo, admiring the places we come across along the way. Such as the Doramas Park, the Santa Catalina accommodation, the Royal Hideaway Hotel, the Alcaravaneras Beach… until we reach the Paseo de Las Canteras, the lungs of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
In Las Canteras, an essential place on the island, we can enjoy a swim or a stroll along its avenue. We also have the opportunity to find other places around, such as the Las Arenas Shopping Centre or the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium.
