Vejer de la Frontera
Located on a rocky cliff 50 km southeast of Cadiz, we find this village belonging to the group of white villages.
The Moorish influence is outstanding and can be seen at a glance while visiting it, with original stone gates and walls from the 15th century. A place to highlight in this village is the 18th century Casa del Mayorazgo.
Arcos de la Frontera
One of the most beautiful villages in Spain can be found in Arcos de la Frontera. It is the gateway to the Route of the White Villages. One of the most beautiful villages in Cádiz.
We can find traces of its first prehistoric and Roman settlers in the Sierra de Aznar archaeological site. An ideal time to visit this village is at Easter, which has been declared of National Tourist Interest.
Setenil de las Bodegas
This village is characterised by its houses under a rock overhang. In Calle Cuevas del Sol and Calle Cuevas de la Sombra, we can find these houses.
It has been declared a Historic Site, the best «secret» destination in Europe, and has less than three thousand inhabitants. It is located in a canyon thanks to the erosion of the Guadalpurcón river.
Olvera
A village with a Moorish past, which was a frontier of the Nasrid kingdom of Granada. From this past we can find the Castle of Olvera from the 12th century.
Another place of interest is the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Encarnación, in neoclassical style and with two identical towers.
Grazalema
It is located in the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park. It has a special microclimate with the highest rainfall index in the Peninsula.
Its town centre has been declared a Historic Site and its jewel of heritage is the baroque church of Nuestra Señora de la Aurora.
Zahara de la Sierra
In the north of Grazalema, above the Puerto de las Palomas, we find one of the most beautiful villages of Cadiz. Located in the centre of the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park.
The municipality of Zahara de la Sierra is made up of four population centres: Zahara, Arroyo Molinos, Bocaleones and Las Casas.
