One of the best tourist attractions to visit in Lanzarote is the Cueva de los Verdes, an exotic place that will surprise you.

The Cueva de los Verdes is one of them, and today we are going to introduce you to this tourist attraction that you should definitely visit at least once in your life.
It was created due to the eruptive activity of the Corona Volcano, a mystical and extraordinary place located in the northern part of the island of Lanzarote, in the municipality of Haría.
In ancient times, the aborigines used La Cueva de los Verdes as a hideout from the constant threats of pirates from North Africa during the 16th and 17th centuries. It is 6 km long, stretching from the crater of the volcano until it enters the sea.
The Cabildo of Lanzarote started the development of this place in 1964 under the guidance of Jesús Soto, a close collaborator of César Manrique. Today the grotto is ready to be visited, allowing visitors to take turns every 20 minutes.
Another of the wonders of La Cueva de los Verdes are its colours. The combination of greys, blacks, ochres and reddish tones that adorn the vaults and walls of the cave will leave you speechless.
