It has 14 rooms arranged in chronological order.  It offers a journey through the artistic history of the country, including paintings and sculptures from all corners of Spain, especially Seville.

The ground floor focuses on medieval Spanish art, the Renaissance, altarpieces, F. Pacheco and his school, Velázquez and A. Cano, Mannerism and Murillo, and the Sevillian school of the 17th century.

On the other hand, the upper floor has Spanish and Sevillian Baroque, Murillo and his disciples, Juan de Valdés. The series of the Life of Saint Jerome, European Baroque painting, Francisco de Zurbarán. The series of the Cartuja de las Cuevas, Spanish and Sevillian painting of the 18th century, the 19th century, G. Bilbao and J. Villegas, Sevillian romanticism and the 20th century. Undoubtedly one of the best museums in Spain. 

The most outstanding artists on display are Zurbarán, Goya, El Greco and Juan de Valdés Leal, although the main star of the museum is undoubtedly Murillo, to whom large areas are dedicated, and there are even temporary exhibitions of his work.

It is located in the Plaza del Museo, between Calle Sierpes and Calle Tetuán, in a building that was formerly the convent of La Merced Calzada. Come and visit one of the best museums in Spain.
