The origins of this town, located in Malaga, date back to the Neolithic period, according to archaeological discoveries made in its old quarter. This makes it one of the oldest cities in Spain.   

However, the city of Ronda as such had its origins with the Celts who called it Arunda around the 6th century BC.  During the centuries surrounding this place, the Muslims carried out several invasions until the year 1485, when King Ferdinand the Catholic achieved the reconquest.
