We all agree that the Teide is the most characteristic symbol of the island of Tenerife and that it possesses an incomparable beauty that leaves everyone fascinated. As well as being the highest peak in Spain, Teide has many other curiosities that we did not know and which we will reveal below:

- Its cable car is the highest in Spain, as the station is 3,500 metres above sea level and its cabin with capacity for 44 people travels 2,842 metres in less than 10 minutes.
- Teide has served as an object of study by many scientists to investigate whether life exists on Mars, as the similarity between the landscape of both places has even served as a test scenario for the a NASA robot that searches for signs of life on the red planet.
- It has the world´s largest shadow over the sea, the effect of which can be seen at dawn towards the island of La Gomera or at dusk towards Gran Canaria. This shadow is full of mystery, since, although El Teide is not a perfect triangular shape, its shadow is.
- It has been and still is the setting for numerous films, due to its peculiar and unique landscape and its singular beauty. Films such as Fast and Furious, Rambo V and Fury of the Titans have been shot here, among others.
- It has native fauna and flora that are unique in the world, as its climatic conditions mean that species such as the Tajinaste, the Teide Violet, the perenquén or the blue chaffinch only exist in the Teide National Park.
